Voices of The Wild is an atmospheric 360 video experience sharing a story of the Yarra Ranges from an unexpected perspective of the Forest, as part of a campaign to begin seeing Parks Victoria as the guardians of these special places.
Inspired by the antiquity and immense value of the region and its native flora and fauna, Voices of The Wild guides its participants to explore the park with their ears and hearts as much as their eyes. From the old growth forest canopy, to the bubbling beginnings of the Yarra River, and to the awesome Mountain Ash giants, each scene provokes a reconnection to our natural environment. With a particular focus on soundscape and using character narrative as a facilitator for connection, the 360 video project aspires to foster appreciation and support for the conservation of these special places – something we tend to forget about in our urban and suburban lifestyles. Following on from the video experience, viewers are invited to become learners by exploring informative and entertaining secondary resources that also support the project's objective. |
